Alinea Community Planning was founded by Jason Locke, MA, RPP, MCIP in 2024 as a British Columbia based land use planning and engagement practice. A Registered Professional Planner with more than 15 years of experience, Jason has held leadership roles across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Jason is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and an IAP2-trained engagement practitioner who specializes in helping communities make informed, practical, and forward-thinking decisions. His experience spans housing needs assessments, land use plans, policy development, and the drafting of official community plans and zoning bylaws
Through his firm, Alinea Community Planning, Jason works closely with municipalities, Indigenous communities, and development partners across British Columbia. He is known for translating complex planning issues into clear, actionable strategies that reflect local values and priorities.
Jason believes that good planning is about connection—between people, policies, and place. Whether leading an engagement process, drafting a bylaw, or advising on a development strategy, he brings a balance of creativity, pragmatism, and integrity to every project.
